Legend of the Guardians Movie

Legend of the Guardians is an upcoming CGI animated movie directed by Zack Snyder (who once brought us 300 and Watchmen) and based on the popular children’s fantasy book series Guardians of Ga’Hoole. The film is actually the adaptation of he first three installments of the book series: The Capture, The Journey, and The Rescue.

Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Rachael Taylor, David Wenham, and Emilie de Ravin are lending their voices to the characters. The film will be released on September 24, 2010.

Here's the synopsis of Legend of the Guardians:

"Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series."

I'm not familiar with the book series, and not enough material for now to get excited about the movie Legend of the Guardians... But I think there must be a compelling reason for a director as talented as Zack Snyder to be interested in helming the film in the first place. So I'm still curious to see of Legend of the Guardians is going to turn out.

I heard that the first official movie trailer of Legend of the Guardians will be shown in front of Alice in Wonderland, so we'll have a better idea of what to expect by then!
